Worship

Here are links to online worship/chapel opportunities.  They come from all walks of faith.  I will add new ones as I find them.  Personally, I am a fan of ‘worship in person’ in a real life sanctuary, but not everyone is comfortable with that or able to attend in person.  I am not going to link to ‘online church’ worship.  Online church basically means that the whole church resides online and that is where they ‘gather’ together for various things (like worship and Bible study).  I’m not saying that is bad.  If you are interested in that, just put ‘online church’ in your search engine and you will find plenty of opportunities.  For purposes here, I want you to experience what it would be like to be at a live worship service, and I will attempt to provide a variety for you to try out.  Even though I’m Lutheran, I still enjoy worship with other denominations (a fancy word for different breeds of Christianity) every now and then.

Also, most of what I am finding for viewing worship online is with larger congregations.  This is not really a surprise because they are usually the ones that have the resources (both in funding and expertise) to get the job done.  It takes some technical expertise and the right equipment to get worship recorded and posted to their website…and even more expertise for it to be streaming live online.

Peace Lutheran Church in Belgrade, MT, streams their services online and also archives them for later viewing.  Peace Lutheran is part of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC).  You can also view the text of the sermon and the weekly worship bulletin from their homepage.

Luther Seminary chapel:  (Lutheran…but also ecumenical – which means representing or relating to a number of different Christian churches).  Chapel is broadcast live weekdays at 11:00 am (central time) when classes are in session.  If you want to check the schedule, see who’s preaching, download a bulletin, or find out any other information about Luther Seminary chapel…click here.

The Crossing in Las Vegas, NV, has four services each week.  There is even a countdown to the next service on the page.  The Crossing is a non-denominational Christian church with contemporary (versus traditional) worship style and would probably be classified as a mega church.

Resurrection Online is a United Methodist Church worship service at UMC of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS.  Worship is recorded live on Sunday and then shown again at various times throughout the week.  They offer both a traditional, which they call Traditions, service and a Praise, or contemporary, service.

Kinsmen Lutheran Church, Houston, TX, records their services (both traditional and contemporary) and posts them online for viewing at any time.  Kinsmen is part of the ELCA.

Loma Linda University Church of Seventh-Day Adventists in Loma Linda, CA.  I’m not very familiar with Seventh-Day Adventist, but they have information about their faith on the website.
